Two crews from HYC travelled to Toronto last weekend to compete in the J22 Canadians at Ashbridges Bay Yacht Club. Jazz (Ron Harris, John Marten, Pete Amos) and Springbok (Michelle Jutras, Ryan Beck, Bernard le Duc) battled it out in a tight fleet which included two Olympic crews.Conditions were light but the race committee managed to run a full slate of 7 races over the two days. With the wind oscillating 30 degrees, there was a premium on tacking on the shifts and riding the puffs - not unlike sailing on the Lake of Two Mountains! A "Dark & Stormy" Saturday evening inspired Springbok to grab a bullet on Sunday morning.
A great time was had by all.
